Our Typical Daily Schedule
7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. Arrival/ eat breakfast
8:30 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. Open play
9:15 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. Group activity – games, songs, review calendar, discuss the weather etc.
9:45 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Diapering/potty
10:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Snack
10:15 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. Outdoor time/supervised play
11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Prepare/eat lunch
12:15 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. Diapering/potty
12:30 p.m.– 1:00 p.m. Story time/quiet time
1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Nap time
3:00 p. m. – 3:30 p.m. Stories & diapering/potty
3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Snack
4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Outdoor time/supervised play
Our days are busy with guided activities and imaginary free play that encourages each and every child to express themselves as individuals. We implement Funshine Express curriculum keeping us busy with daily projects, weekly themes, and overall learning through exploration and discovery. I believe children learn through play so that is our main focus. We go outside rain or shine everyday to get fresh air and develop an appreciation for nature. We have a park across the street and enjoy going to play during the summer months. We talk about the seasons, what day it is and how the children think the weather will be the next day. I look for developmentally appropriate activities depending on the ages of the group so they are constantly changing. We love and request that parents come to share their celebrations and teach us about their traditions and beliefs. In this, I hope to teach the children tolerance and understanding of the beliefs and cultures of different people.
